Not All Disabled Exempt from Measure H

Maria Zanetti was a civilian crane operator at Naval Air Station Alameda for 25 years. She loaded cargo on military ships until an accumulation of back injuries from her work duties put her out of work and on Supplementary Security Income (SSI). She has applied for an exemption to Measure H and has been denied.

Business-to-Business Sales Tax Revenue Jumps 51% in 1st Quarter

According to the City Manager’s Quarterly Sales Tax Report for the Period Ending March 31, 2008, Business-to-Business Sales Tax Revenue jumped 51% over the prior year’s same quarter.

Alameda Point Task Force Reviews SunCal’s Plans

Peter Calthorpe! Defending his high-density - 80 units per acre, 6260 units, 14000 to 15000 people - plan for Alameda Point Mr. Calthorpe said “It’s not like we’re going to have developers come into Alameda and start tearing down houses to turn this into San Francisco or something.”

Has Mr. Calthorpe understood anything about the history of Measure A?
